Notes from the Heart

For several years my wife and I have been the recipients of financial assistance made possible through your love and compassion. Since our retirement after 46 years in the ministry, it has been through you that He has so blessed us and given to us of His care and His provisions. We express to you our deep and sincere gratitude and we pray our Heavenly Father's richest and choicest of blessings upon you.

— Oscar and Terry G. , pastor who ministered for 37 years

I was so happy to get a letter from GuideStone stating the name of the ministry would be called Mission:Dignity. I sure love that name. Dignity is the perfect word for how I feel about God's annointed ones. To know that God "never leaves us nor forsakes us" as He has stated in His Word, makes my heart rejoice.

In the era of time when my husband signed up for his retirement from the ministry, the economy was not not fluent and he could not provide for his family if he had more taken out of his salary. Upon his death, I just thought there was no way I could make it financially. I can't stress enough how God takes care of His children. You dear people have helped make up for that deficit. Thank you donors for helping make ends meet for all of us widows.

— Jeanette H. , widow of pastor who ministered for 52 years

I thank you and praise the Lord for you. If it was not for you I may not have food on my table or clothes on my back. For 49 years I went with my husband as he preached everywhere — large places and small places. He said God called him to preach His Word no matter where. Thank you and God bless you as He has blessed me through you. Please don't ever forget me. I couldn't make it without God and you.

— Annie M. , widow of a pastor who ministered 49 years

Words cannot express how much I appreciate your generous help. My income is limited to Social Security. My husband and I served the Lord for 40 years in 4 different churches. He was a wonderful pastor. He died in April 2007, but I know he would thank you too for helping me. God bless you. I love you even though I may not see you till we get to Heaven. Thanks again for all you do.

— Polly J. , widow of pastor who ministered for 40 years

God has promised to supply my needs and I am so grateful He has chosen you to supply them. I served churches for thirty years. These were smaller, country churches that just simply were not able or chose to pay the minimum into a retirement plan for me. Because of this, if it were not for Mission:Dignity, there would be times I would not be able to "make ends meet." Let me say thank you for letting the Lord use you to supply my needs. May God bless you!
